President Ho Chi Minh (namely Nguyen Sinh Cung, Nguyen Tat Thanh, and Nguyen Ai Quoc; names were taken in his early childhood, his school time, and his revolutionary stage respectively), was born on May 19, 1890 in Kim Lien village, Nam Lien commune (now Kim Lien commune), Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province and passed away on September 2, 1969 in Hanoi.
In June 1911, he left Vietnam, visiting France and many countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. He harmonized with laborers and colonials, working for a living while researching and studying revolutionary dissent.
What encouraged President Ho to Marxism-Leninism was the glorious victory of the Russian October Revolution in 1917. With dedicated research of Marxism-Leninism, he had a pathway to liberate the nation and to liberate the society.
President Ho Chi Minh was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a notable Vietnamese cultural figure thanks to his massive contribution to people and humanity. He initiated the campaign to subvert colonialism and imperialism, liberate colonial peoples, securing independence and freedom. Ho Chi Minh is a symbol of the harmonious combination between Vietnamese cultural sophistication and humanities. His supreme intelligence, comprehensive understanding of vast culture and life practices had allowed him intensive access to Marxism-Leninism, the apex and crystallization of human cultural achievements.
Ho Chi Minh - a notable cultural figure turned a new chapter, an updated culture in Vietnam’s history, and simultaneously contributed significant values to world cultural development. He advocated numerous cultural establishments fairly early on - from the mid 40s and 50s of the XX century, such as: Eliminating illiteracy, planting trees, incubating people, reforesting bare hills, enriching the ecological environment… These major campaigns had been promoted by the United Nations worldwide by the early 90s of this century.
The shining moral exemplar of President Ho Chi Minh not only inspired us with an unprecedented glorious revolutionary career. But the ethical practices, admirable inner values also remained unfaded in the mind of our Communist Party, our people and our army, which represents the will and soul of Vietnamese people and humanity.
The Communist Party of Vietnam in all documents unanimously affirms: "President Ho's life is a pure light. It is indeed a glowing example of uncompromising revolutionary spirit, self-independence, humanity and a warm heart for the people, public-spirit, humble and minimalistic manners. Our souls always have his wonderful ideologies and values lighted in minds".
